World Youth Day (WYD) will be held at the Ateneo de Manila University campus in Quezon City from August 20 to 21 and Up to 15,000 youth delegates will join the celebration that may bring traffic to surrounding areas.
The event will be highlighted by Pope Benedict XVI’s message to the youth that will be telecast live from Madrid.
Suggested alternative routes for vehicles plying Katipunan in front of Ateneo de Manila University where the World Youth Day vigil will be held this weekend, August 20-21, Ateneo posted in their website.
For vehicles coming from the south going to the Commonwealth area:
• Along Katipunan, make a U-turn under the Aurora flyover going south (towards Makati)
• Right to P. Tuazon Boulevard (at Labor Hospital)
• Right to J.P. Rizal
• Left to Aurora Boulevard
• Right to Anonas
• Left to Kamias Road
• Right to Kalayaan Road
• Right to Elliptical Road
• Right to Commonwealth Avenue
• (If going to Katipunan) Right to University Avenue
• Right to C.P. Garcia going to Katipunan
For vehicles coming from Marikina (Sumulong) going to Commonwealth:
• Along Sumulong, make a right turn to J.P. Rizal Street
• Left to Bagong Farmer’s Avenue going to Tumana Bridge
• Left to Katipunan Street inside Loyola Grand Villas
• Right to Katipunan Extension
• Right to H. Ventura Street
• Right to Katipunan Avenue
For vehicles coming from Marikina (Marcos Highway) going to Commonwealth:
• Along Marcos Highway, turn left to Aurora Boulevard
• Right to Anonas
• Left to Kamias Road
• Right to Kalayaan Road
• Right to Elliptical Road
• Right to Commonwealth Avenue
• Right to University Avenue
• Right to C.P. Garcia going to Katipunan
For vehicles coming from Eastwood and White Plains area going to Commonwealth:
• Left to Bonny Serrano towards EDSA
• Right to East Avenue or Quezon Avenue
• Right to Elliptical Road
• Right to Commonwealth
For vehicles coming from Commonwealth going south:
• Along Commonwealth, turn right to Elliptical Road
• Right to East Avenue
• Left to EDSA going south
