Al Jazeera and CNN reported that Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden (Osama Bin Laden), founder of terrorist organization al-Qaeda who is responsible for the September 11 attacks in the United States, is dead.

US President Barack Obama confirms the al-Qaeda leader’s death by saying, “Tonight, I can report to the people of the United States and the world, the United States had carried an operation that has killed Osama Bin Laden, a terrorist responsible for killing thousands of innocent people.” The jihadist terrorist was killed in a U.S. operation in Pakistani city of Abbottabad, and U.S. officials claim that their forces have the body. The firefight lasted 40 minutes according to NBC, and four people, including Bin Laden were killed. Reportedly, one of those killed was Bin Laden’s son.

Furthermore, Al Jazeera correspondent Qais Azimy stated that Afghan officials described bin Laden’s killing as a “symbolic victory”, since he was no longer directly connected to the group’s field operations. But US president Obama stated that “His demise should be welcomed by all who believe in peace and human dignity.” He further added, “The United States is not and never will be at war with Islam.” “The American people did not chose this fight; it came to our shores.” “Justice has been done.” “Let us remember that we can do these things not because of wealth or power, but because of who we are: one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.”
