It is another proud moment for Filipinos as Lea Salonga was just named as one of the seven judges for the Miss Universe 2011 pageant night in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011.
Lea Salonga shot through fame when she won a Tony Award in 1991 for her memorable performance in Miss Saigon. And recently, she was also named as one of the Disney Legends. She was honored for lending her singing voice in Aladdin, Mulan and Mulan II.

Filipina international singer Lea Salonga is one of the 12 individuals to receive a Disney Legends award this year.
Lea Salonga received her recognition as a Disney Legend, held at the D23 Expo, a 3-day event for Disney fans.
Disney also recognized Salonga’s astounding performance in Broadway, particularly her role portrayal as Kim in “Miss Saigon.”
Salonga was the singing voice for two Disney Princesses: Jasmine in Aladdin (1992), and Fa Mulan in Mulan (1998) and Mulan II (2004).
Lea Salonga also received a two-foot-tall bronze Disney Legends sculpture and are slated to participate in a handprint ceremony which is displayed at Disney Legends Plaza inside the headquarters of Walt Disney in Burbank, California.
