One lucky Briton won on Tuesday a record 185 million Euros in the Euro Millions lottery, lottery operator Camelot announced.
The €185 million prize was the biggest EuroMillions jackpot ever and the largest for a single winner, EuroMillions said.
The previous record holder was also a player from Britain who won 129 million Euros in October 2010.
UK National Lottery spokesman told “This is amazing news; we are absolutely delighted that a UK ticket holder has scooped the entire €185 million jackpot, which at the current exchange rate is a massive £161 million. We’ve got the champagne on ice and look forward to welcoming the ticket-holder or holders into the National Lottery millionaires’ club.”
The EuroMillions jackpot grew so much after a series of rollovers that it was capped at €185 million.
EuroMillions is jointly run by the national lotteries of nine countries – Britain, France, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland and Portugal.
